Had a biopsy done and I was wondering if surgery centers have pathology in their building?
Had a biopsy on Tuesday…it’s Saturday, still haven’t heard anything. Do surgery centers usually have pathology departments in their buildings or do they have to send it to a hospital? I had my biopsy in a big surgery center. Any help?
Most surgery centers do not have associated pathology departments in house. They usually send it off to a large pathology group. In general, results come back after about a week.
